About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits Plan Administrator to lead the comprehensive administration of employee benefits programs across a diverse member group in Canada. This role also includes managing a standalone Travel Insurance Program for members.

As the central point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external partners, the successful candidate will oversee benefit plan operations, ensure compliance, and deliver excellent client service. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, deep knowledge of group benefits, and the ability to tailor support to the unique needs of each participating member.


Key Responsibilities: Benefits Administration:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of health, dental, vision, disability (STD/LTD), life insurance, and travel insurance plans

  • Oversee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations across multiple clients with accuracy and timeliness

  • Implement risk management practices to help reduce claims costs

Client & Member Support:

  • Serve as the primary contact for benefit inquiries, issues, and guidance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with member clients and their HR teams

  • Monitor claims experience and proactively alert clients of potential impacts on renewals

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations

  • Stay current with legislation changes affecting benefits programs and advise clients accordingly

Vendor & Partner Management:

  • Liaise with insurers, third party administrators, and travel insurance partners

  • Negotiate renewals, resolve service issues, and recommend plan enhancements

Education & Communication:

  • Create and lead employee education initiatives on benefits

  • Respond to employee questions and concerns promptly and professionally

Plan Design & Analysis:

  • Support the design and rollout of new or revised benefits plans customized to client needs

  • Analyze utilization and claims data to inform strategic plan recommendations

Problem Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve complex benefits issues

  • Act as mediator between clients, employees, and vendors when necessary


Qualifications:

  • Licenses/Certifications: LLQP required; CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) preferred.

  • Experience: 5+ years in benefits administration, with multi-client experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of group benefits, provincial/federal compliance, and vendor relations.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

    • Proficiency in benefits administration systems and Microsoft Office Suite

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills

    • Commitment to high-quality service and confidentiality


Additional Details:

  • Work Environment: Hybrid schedule (3 in-office, 2 remote)

  • Travel: Occasional travel for client meetings or training may be required
